Honeymoon inc. Trafalgar Grand European April 08
After our wedding, Bianca and I went to Europe for our Honeymoon. We spent 5 weeks away touring England and Western Europe.
During our trip I took some 11,000 photos. (Its actually kinda easy when your camera takes 3 at a time)
On this page you will find a selection of our holiday photos.
I will upload photos over time as I have to sort and clean them up before I post them.
I will only post low res images here in the interest of server space. If you would like a high res copy of any of the photos please email me and I’ll happily send them to you.
Cheers
Anthony
PS - I would suggest that unless you have a very fast internet connection that you don’t try to click “Show as Slidehow”. Because I’ve put all of the days on one page for ease, when you watch slide show it will actually start all of them at once. This puts a pretty heavy load on your connection and on the server as it trying to load almost 200mb of photos at once. Cheers Anthony
London
We started our holiday with 4 days in London. In London not only did we see all the normal sights like Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and The Tower Bridge ….. we also found the worlds biggest mouse poo.
London Day 2
London Day 3
Trafalgar Tour Day 1- London to Calais
As we are completely new to traveling we decided to take a guided tour through Europe. We chose a Trafalgar Tour for its pace, comfort and we wanted to experience a more historical and cultural tour rather than drink our way through Europe.
We had an absolutely brilliant group of people to travel with and an outstanding tour manager (Brent) and coach driver (Antonio). More about the motley crew later.
On day 1 we left The Hilton in Kensington, London and headed for the Ferry at Dover.

Trafalgar Day 12 - Assisi - Isle of Capri - Sorrento
Trafalgar Day 13 - Sorrento - Pompeii - Rome ( via Monte Cassino)
Day 13 of our trip was April 25th - Anzac Day. We had the priviledge to go to the War Memorial Cemetery at Cassino. The cemetery rests at the foot of the hill where the Abbey of Monte Cassino to this day still stands. The battle of Monte Cassino was a series of hard fought and very costly battles that occurred during the early part of 1944.
Visiting the cemetery was one of the most moving experiences of my life to date. Its hard to explain how it feels to stand in a place dedicated to people that came to a far away place and gave their lives so that others wouldn’t have too.
On behalf of our group I’d sincerely like to thank Brent for organising the trip to Cassino and for giving us the opportunity to lay a wreath in their memory.
The Ode from For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
We will remember them.
“When you go home tell them of us and say - For your tomorrow we gave our today”
I have added a full panorama of the cemetery in the panorama photography page.
